The interest of humans to understand their own bodies and those of other creatures goes back to the emergence of the species. One can think of Greece and the GOLDEN RATIO, which was to determine the basic proportions of the human body. With the advent of Mendelian inheritance concept, the way was paved for the succession of discovery that took place thereafter. With Darwin, we begun to have a better idea of what happened during the passage of time through generations. But it is only with Watson, Rosalind and Crick that we have reached a sufficient level of knowledge to connect chemistry and heredity.
